Job Description
Who you are
As an Engineering Operations Technician, you are a critical guardian of technological infrastructure, ensuring that mission-critical systems operate seamlessly. You have hands-on experience with electrical and mechanical equipment troubleshooting, and you are adept at maintaining and operating complex systems. Your expertise contributes to maintaining an extraordinary uptime of 99.999%, which is essential for powering global digital experiences. You thrive in environments where you can apply your technical skills to solve real-world problems and ensure the reliability of essential services.
You have a solid understanding of three-phase electrical systems, including switch gear, UPSs, PDUs, and wet cell batteries. Your experience also extends to working with cooling systems such as CRAC units, centrifugal chillers, and cooling towers. You are comfortable working with diesel generators and related fuel systems, ensuring that all equipment operates efficiently and effectively. You are a proactive problem solver who enjoys collaborating with a diverse team of engineers and specialists to tackle the challenges of maintaining AWS data centers.
Desirable
While not required, experience with AWS infrastructure services or similar environments would be a plus. Familiarity with data center operations and a strong commitment to safety and efficiency will help you excel in this role. You are eager to learn and grow within the organization, contributing to the continuous improvement of operational processes.
What you'll do
In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting the electrical and mechanical systems that support AWS data centers. You will work closely with a team of engineers to ensure that all equipment is functioning optimally, contributing to the overall reliability of the data center. Your day-to-day tasks will include performing routine inspections, conducting preventive maintenance, and responding to equipment failures as they arise. You will document all maintenance activities and collaborate with your team to identify areas for improvement.
You will also play a key role in supporting the installation of new equipment and systems, ensuring that all installations meet safety and operational standards. Your technical expertise will be invaluable in diagnosing issues and implementing solutions that enhance the performance of the data center. You will participate in training sessions and workshops to stay updated on the latest technologies and best practices in the industry.
