Who you are

You are an entry-level Engineering Technician with a strong foundation in electrical and mechanical systems. You have hands-on experience troubleshooting complex equipment and are eager to learn about data center operations. Your attention to detail ensures that you maintain high standards of uptime and reliability in mission-critical environments. You thrive in collaborative settings, working alongside diverse teams of engineers and specialists to solve challenging problems. Desirable

Experience with diesel generators and fuel systems is a plus, as is familiarity with three-phase electrical systems. You may have worked with cooling systems, including centrifugal chillers and air handlers, and understand the importance of maintaining optimal operating conditions in a data center. A background in AWS infrastructure services or similar environments would be beneficial, as would any certifications related to electrical or mechanical engineering.

What you'll do

As an Engineering Operations Technician at Amazon, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the infrastructure that powers AWS data centers. Your responsibilities will include operating and troubleshooting electrical and mechanical equipment, ensuring that all systems function seamlessly to support global digital experiences. You will be responsible for maintaining standby diesel generators and related fuel systems, as well as managing three-phase electrical systems, including switch gear, UPSs, and PDUs. You will work closely with other technicians and engineers to identify and resolve issues quickly, contributing to the overall reliability and efficiency of the data center operations.

You will also participate in routine maintenance and inspections, documenting your findings and collaborating with your team to implement improvements. Your role will require you to stay updated on the latest technologies and best practices in data center operations, ensuring that you are equipped to handle the challenges that arise in this fast-paced environment.
