Amazon is hiring a Senior DFT Design Engineer to design and optimize hardware for AWS Machine Learning servers. You'll work with DFT architectures and collaborate with cross-functional teams. This position requires 5+ years of practical DFT experience.
Job Description
Who you are
You have 5+ years of practical DFT experience with large processor and/or SoC designs — you've defined and developed state-of-the-art Design for Test (DFT) architectures for advanced technology nodes, ensuring high design quality and making the right trade-offs. Your knowledge about industry standard tools and practices in DFT, including ATPG, JTAG, and MBIST, allows you to implement highly efficient DFT solutions. You are skilled in automation script development, which enhances your ability to streamline processes and improve efficiency.
You possess a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science — your educational background has equipped you with a solid foundation in the principles of hardware design and testing. You are a strong communicator and collaborator, able to act as the primary point of contact for cross-functional stakeholders, aligning schedules and goals effectively. Mentoring and developing junior engineers through code reviews and technical guidance is something you find rewarding, as you enjoy sharing your expertise and fostering growth in others.
What you'll do
As a Senior DFT Design Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and optimizing hardware in AWS data centers, including AWS Inferentia and Trainium systems. You will define and develop DFT architectures, working closely with block designers and the physical design team to implement solutions that meet high standards of efficiency and quality. Managing project timelines and deliverables will be a key part of your role, ensuring high-quality DFT implementation from RTL through Silicon bring-up. You will collaborate with various teams, including Architecture and Product Engineering, to ensure alignment on project goals and schedules.
Your role will also involve mentoring junior engineers, providing them with the technical guidance and support they need to succeed. You will be at the forefront of integrating emerging technologies into AWS's machine learning infrastructure, helping to trailblaze new technologies and architectures. Your contributions will directly impact the performance and reliability of AWS's machine learning services, making this a critical position within the Cloud-Scale Machine Learning Acceleration team.
What we offer
Amazon offers a competitive salary range of $159,200.00 - $215,300.00 USD annually, along with a comprehensive benefits package that includes dental, vision, and prescription insurance, as well as options for supplemental life plans. You will have access to mental health support, a medical advice line, and flexible spending accounts. Additionally, Amazon provides a 401(k) matching program, paid time off, and parental leave, ensuring that you have the support you need both professionally and personally. Join us at Amazon and be part of a team that is shaping the future of machine learning and cloud computing.
