Overview
Amazon is hiring a Senior ASIC Design Engineer to work on innovative silicon solutions for their Cameras and Doorbells. You'll focus on architectural specifications and collaborate with verification teams. This role requires a strong background in ASIC design and related technologies.
Job Description
Who you are
You have a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Communications Engineering and possess extensive experience in ASIC design. Your background includes defining architecture specifications based on product requirements, and you have a solid understanding of microarchitecture suitable for implementation by junior engineers. You are skilled in evaluating third-party IP blocks and estimating power, performance, and area for significant IPs early in the design cycle.
You have a proven track record of executing design specifications to deliver high-quality RTL. Your expertise includes ensuring quality by running and tracking results of front-end tools such as Synthesis, Lint, Power Analysis, and STA. You take the lead in working with verification teams to define functional coverage and assist in defining test plans and test benches with pre-silicon verification teams.
Your experience extends to post-silicon validation, where you define and execute test plans. You are adept at writing high-quality documentation to guide and lead a scalable team, ensuring that all aspects of the design process are well-documented and communicated.
Desirable
Experience with integrated verification and validation environments is a plus, as is familiarity with architectural modeling and post-silicon validation processes. You thrive in a vertically integrated team environment and are passionate about delivering energy-efficient designs that leverage the latest in AI and CMOS fabrication technology.
What you'll do
In this role, you will join the Blink/Ring ASIC team at Amazon, where you will be responsible for delivering highly differentiated silicon for innovative products. You will drive early architectural and micro-architectural trade-offs to reduce time-to-revenue, ensuring that the designs meet customer requirements effectively. Your work will involve collaborating closely with product teams to define architecture specifications and create microarchitecture specifications that junior engineers can implement.
You will evaluate third-party IP blocks and estimate key metrics such as power, performance, and area during the early design cycle. Your focus will be on executing design specifications to deliver high-quality RTL, ensuring that the designs are robust and meet the necessary standards. You will also ensure quality by running and tracking results of front-end tools, including Synthesis, Lint, Power Analysis, and STA.
As a lead, you will work with verification teams to define functional coverage and assist in defining test plans and test benches with pre-silicon verification teams. You will also collaborate with post-silicon validation teams to define and execute test plans, ensuring that the final products meet the high standards expected by Amazon customers.
What we offer
At Amazon, you will be part of a team that values innovation and collaboration. You will have the opportunity to work on state-of-the-art SoCs and contribute to products that customers love. We encourage you to apply even if your experience doesn't match every requirement, as we value diverse perspectives and backgrounds. Join us in shaping the future of technology in a supportive and dynamic environment.
