Job Description
Who you are
You have a Master's or PhD in electrical engineering or computer engineering, or equivalent experience, and at least 1 year of hands-on experience in schematic design. Your background includes working with RF circuitry and antenna systems, showcasing your ability to design and optimize complex hardware components. You are familiar with PCB layout processes and have experience leading or reviewing such designs. Your technical skills are complemented by a collaborative mindset, allowing you to work effectively with cross-functional teams, including RF engineers and other hardware specialists.
You are detail-oriented and possess strong problem-solving skills, enabling you to troubleshoot and optimize hardware designs. Your experience includes bringing up and testing active antennas, ensuring that you can contribute to the testing campaigns effectively. You are comfortable with automated test systems and have a solid understanding of the design lifecycle from concept through production.
What you'll do
As a Hardware Development Engineer at Amazon, you will play a crucial role in the LEO initiative, focusing on the design and optimization of antenna systems. You will be responsible for designing proof of concept systems and prototypes for next-generation antennas, collaborating closely with the RF team to ensure seamless integration of RF circuitry. Your role will also involve designing automated test systems and fixtures, leading the testing campaigns for active antennas to validate performance and reliability.
You will work alongside Senior Electrical Engineers, supporting the design, debug, validation, and optimization of hardware products. Your contributions will span the entire design lifecycle, providing you with a comprehensive understanding of hardware development processes. You will lead PCB layout reviews, ensuring that designs meet both functional and manufacturability requirements. Your work will directly impact the success of Amazon's satellite communications efforts, providing low-latency, high-speed broadband connectivity to underserved communities.
