Job Description

Who you are

You have a strong background in electromagnetic interference (EMI) and electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) engineering, with at least 5 years of experience in hardware development. Your expertise in antenna design and testing methodologies allows you to effectively define requirements and communicate with design teams about electromagnetic environments. You are skilled in performing analysis of radiated emissions and susceptibility, and you have a proven track record of developing models to mitigate interference issues.

You thrive in collaborative environments, working closely with electronic component design teams to address EMI-related challenges. Your leadership skills enable you to guide engineers and technicians during test campaigns, ensuring that all necessary tests are executed to achieve EMI/EMC qualified hardware. You are detail-oriented and possess strong analytical skills, allowing you to influence decision-makers on processes and procedures.

What you'll do

In this role, you will define requirements for testing and qualifying subsystems for low-earth-orbit satellites. You will perform detailed analysis of radiated emissions and susceptibility, developing models to control emissions and susceptibility effectively. Collaborating with subsystem design owners, you will address EMI-related challenges and ensure that all designs meet the necessary electromagnetic environment specifications. You will coordinate EMI and EMC testing for satellites and their subsystems, providing leadership and guidance throughout the testing process.

Your responsibilities will also include reviewing designs and building test capabilities for complex payload subsystems. You will influence the development of processes and procedures necessary for achieving EMI/EMC qualification, ensuring that all hardware meets stringent requirements. You will work with cross-functional teams to communicate requirements related to shielding, grounding, bonding, and isolation, fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation.
