Overview

Amazon is hiring a Senior Hardware Engineer to contribute to the development of advanced antenna systems for the Amazon Leo initiative. You'll work on RF circuitry, PCB layout, and automated test systems. This position requires 7+ years of experience in hardware engineering.

Job Description

Who you are

You have a Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or computer engineering, or equivalent experience, and at least 7 years of industrial experience, particularly in board-level analog and digital design. Your expertise includes high-speed digital design, multi-gigabit SERDES, and ensuring signal and power integrity in complex systems. You are proficient in using schematic capture tools and have hands-on experience with lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and multi-meters. Familiarity with Mentor Graphics or Cadence layout tools is essential, and a Master's or PhD in electrical engineering or computer engineering is a plus. You also have a solid understanding of analog electronics, which complements your technical skill set.

What you'll do

As a Senior Hardware Engineer at Amazon, you will play a crucial role in the Amazon Leo initiative, which aims to provide broadband connectivity through a constellation of Low Earth Orbit satellites. You will be responsible for the design and optimization of various blocks of antenna systems, ensuring they meet the required specifications for performance and reliability. Your role will involve designing proof of concept systems and prototypes for the next generation of antennas, collaborating closely with the RF team to design RF circuitry that meets stringent performance criteria. Additionally, you will design automated test systems and test fixtures to facilitate factory testing, leading the bring-up and test campaigns of active antennas. Your expertise will also be critical in reviewing PCB layouts to ensure they align with design requirements and industry standards.
