You are a talented export controls lawyer with a Juris Doctor and membership in a state bar. You have experience providing legal counsel on export laws, particularly in relation to emerging technologies such as AI, quantum computing, and semiconductors. You are adept at navigating complex regulatory environments and have a strong understanding of international trade compliance. You thrive in collaborative settings, working closely with business units and cross-functional teams to develop innovative solutions.
You stay up to date on forthcoming export control laws and enforcement trends, ensuring that your legal advice is informed by the latest developments in the field. You possess strong problem-solving skills and can manage a broad range of legal matters in a rapidly evolving business landscape. Your ability to provide strategic input on legal and business decisions makes you a valuable asset to any team.
What you'll do
In this role, you will support Amazon Web Services (AWS) by providing legal counsel on export laws and compliance matters. You will collaborate with global teams to develop innovative solutions that align with regulatory requirements. Your responsibilities will include researching and analyzing export control laws, advising on regulatory engagements, and ensuring compliance with international trade regulations. You will work directly with various business units, providing strategic legal input that influences key business decisions.
You will also be involved in developing problem-solving solutions that address complex legal challenges faced by AWS. Your role will require you to stay informed about the latest trends in export controls and technology law, allowing you to provide timely and relevant legal advice. Additionally, you may be required to travel domestically and internationally to support AWS initiatives and engage with regulatory bodies.
