Who you are

You have a strong background in machine learning and deep learning, with extensive experience in developing and optimizing models for performance on custom hardware. Your expertise in frameworks like PyTorch and JAX allows you to seamlessly integrate with the AWS Neuron SDK, ensuring that you can push the boundaries of AI acceleration. You are comfortable working across the stack, from high-level model design down to the hardware-software boundary, and you have a passion for innovating new methods to enhance ML performance.

You possess a deep understanding of the challenges involved in running a wide range of models and architectures, and you are skilled at maximizing their performance on AWS's custom ML accelerators. Your collaborative spirit enables you to work effectively with cross-functional teams, including compiler and runtime engineers, to create high-performance kernels for ML functions. You are committed to continuous learning and improvement, always seeking to optimize current performance while contributing to future architecture designs.

What you'll do

As a Senior Machine Learning Engineer at Amazon, you will be at the forefront of developing the AWS Neuron SDK, which is critical for accelerating deep learning and GenAI workloads. You will work closely with the Inference Enablement and Acceleration team to innovate and implement new methods that enhance the performance of machine learning models on Inferentia and Trainium accelerators. Your role will involve building systematic infrastructure that supports a wide range of models, ensuring that every compute unit is fine-tuned for optimal performance.

You will collaborate with customers to enable their models and provide guidance on best practices for leveraging AWS's custom ML accelerators. Your responsibilities will include optimizing existing models, contributing to the design of future architectures, and ensuring that the AWS Neuron SDK remains a leading tool in the industry. You will also have the opportunity to mentor junior engineers, sharing your knowledge and expertise to help them grow in their careers.
