Job Description
Who you are
You have a strong background in mechanical engineering, particularly in the design and development of robotic systems. With a deep understanding of structural and electromechanical design, you thrive in hands-on environments and have experience taking high-performance robots from concept to production. You are comfortable performing kinematic, dynamic, and structural analyses to inform mechanical design and optimizations of components and subsystems of high-degree-of-freedom robots.
Your expertise extends to specifying and integrating actuators and motors for high-torque density applications in high-degree-of-freedom systems. You are knowledgeable about thermal management strategies for motors, sensors, and embedded compute hardware, ensuring that all components work seamlessly together. You enjoy collaborating closely with electrical, software, and AI research teams, contributing to innovative research projects while developing real-world systems.
What you'll do
In this role, you will be responsible for the mechanical and system architecture of advanced robotics platforms. You will integrate sensors such as lidar, stereo cameras, IMUs, and tactile sensors into compact robotic systems, ensuring that all components function effectively. You will also have the opportunity to explore your research interests in mechatronics, sensor integration, or novel actuation methods while building systems that advance the field of high-degree-of-freedom robotics.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include performing detailed analyses to inform design decisions, collaborating with cross-disciplinary teams, and contributing to the overall success of robotics projects. You will be involved in the entire lifecycle of robotic systems, from initial concept through to production, ensuring that all designs meet performance and manufacturability standards.
What we offer
Amazon provides a competitive salary range of $134,900.00 - $185,000.00 USD annually, along with a comprehensive benefits package that includes health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off. You will have the chance to work in a dynamic environment where innovation is encouraged, and your contributions will directly impact the development of cutting-edge robotic technologies. We believe in fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous learning, providing you with opportunities to grow your skills and advance your career in robotics.
