Job Description
Who you are
You have a strong background in mechanical engineering, with a focus on building complex robotic systems. Your experience includes structural and electromechanical design, and you thrive in hands-on environments where you can take high-performance robots from concept to production. You are comfortable performing kinematic, dynamic, and structural analyses to inform mechanical design and optimizations of components and subsystems of high-degree-of-freedom robots.
You have expertise in specifying and integrating actuators and motors for high-torque density applications in high-degree-of-freedom systems. Your knowledge extends to thermal management strategies for motors, sensors, and embedded compute hardware. You are familiar with integrating various sensors such as lidar, stereo cameras, IMUs, and tactile sensors into compact robotic systems.
What you'll do
In this role, you will collaborate closely with electrical, software, and AI research teams to develop innovative robotic solutions. You will be responsible for the mechanical and system architecture of advanced robotics platforms, ensuring that all components work seamlessly together. Your contributions will not only focus on day-to-day hardware development but also on exciting research projects that push the boundaries of robotics.
You will engage in the full lifecycle of robotic system development, from initial design through to production. This includes conducting thorough analyses to optimize designs and ensure manufacturability. You will also have the opportunity to explore your research interests in areas such as mechatronics and novel actuation methods, contributing to the advancement of high-degree-of-freedom robotics.
What we offer
Amazon provides a competitive salary range of $122,600.00 - $185,000.00 annually, along with a comprehensive benefits package that includes health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off.
