Job Description
Who you are
You have a strong background in data engineering support, with experience in monitoring and optimizing data pipelines and ETL jobs. Your expertise includes working with AWS services such as Redshift, Glue, and Airflow, allowing you to effectively troubleshoot and resolve issues in real-time. You are skilled in conducting root cause analyses and improving operational health, ensuring that the services you support run smoothly.
You possess excellent communication skills, enabling you to effectively interact with stakeholders and provide timely updates on ticket resolutions. Your proactive approach to monitoring alarms and metrics helps maintain the overall health of the data ecosystem you support. You are detail-oriented and capable of diagnosing issues related to data extraction, transformation, and loading processes.
What you'll do
In this role, you will monitor and optimize Amazon Redshift clusters, identifying long-running queries and implementing optimizations to maintain cluster performance. You will continuously monitor data pipelines and ETL jobs, including those running on Glue, Airflow, Lambda, Spark, EMR, and Kinesis, to identify failures and performance degradation in real-time.
You will troubleshoot data pipeline failures by diagnosing issues related to extraction, transformation, loading, schema mismatches, and data quality. Your responsibilities will include performing impact analyses and applying immediate fixes to ensure minimal disruption to services. You will provide continuous support for existing data engineering products, tools, platforms, and solutions built by the DE team.
You will collaborate with various teams within the Last Mile Org, including Business Intelligence, Tech, Product, and Program teams, to ensure that the data ecosystem meets their reporting and analysis needs. Your role is crucial in helping these teams generate insights that drive the roadmap for last mile products and processes.
