Amazon is hiring a WHS Manager to lead the Workplace Health & Safety team in Melbourne. You'll be responsible for driving WHS culture and ensuring a safe working environment. This role requires strong communication skills and experience in risk assessments.

Who you are

You have a strong background in workplace health and safety management, demonstrating your ability to partner effectively with site leaders and operations teams. Your passion for creating a safe and healthy working environment is evident in your proactive approach to risk assessments and safety data analysis. You possess excellent communication skills, enabling you to train Operations Leaders in WHS policies and inspire change within the organization. Your experience includes developing local WHS procedures that align with global standards, showcasing your ability to adapt and implement best practices in diverse environments.

You are skilled in analyzing safety metrics and identifying trends in incident reports, allowing you to measure site performance against established safety and health policies. Your leadership capabilities are highlighted by your experience in managing a WHS team and executing leadership development plans that foster growth and improvement. You understand the importance of building trust and confidence with the operations team, and you thrive in collaborative environments where you can drive continuous improvement initiatives.

What you'll do

In this role, you will lead the WHS team at Amazon, focusing on creating a culture of safety and compliance across the organization. You will conduct comprehensive risk assessments related to environmental health and safety hazards, ensuring that all procedures meet Amazon's global standards. Your responsibilities will include analyzing safety metrics and reporting on incident trends to identify areas for improvement. You will work closely with site leaders to develop and implement local WHS procedures that align with corporate policies, ensuring that safety remains a top priority in daily operations.

You will also be responsible for training Operations Leaders on WHS policies, equipping them with the knowledge and skills necessary to incorporate safety standards into their day-to-day work. Your role will involve measuring site performance against published safety requirements and identifying actionable plans to achieve the best results for both employees and customers. By fostering a culture of safety and accountability, you will contribute to Amazon's mission of being the most customer-centric company on Earth.
