Overview

Amazon is seeking an Operations Supervisor to lead and inspire a team within Amazon Logistics. You'll collaborate with management to drive performance and ensure effective execution in transportation networks. This role requires strong leadership skills and the ability to manage workflow and team dynamics.

Who you are

You are a proactive leader with experience in operations management, capable of inspiring a team to achieve performance goals and productivity standards that align with company objectives. You understand the importance of fostering a strong health and safety culture and ensure adherence to relevant laws and internal policies. You have a knack for monitoring team attendance and workflow, and you work closely with management to identify and resolve any issues that may arise. Your leadership style encourages collaboration and accountability among team members, ensuring that everyone is aligned with the operational goals.

Desirable

Experience in a logistics or distribution environment is a plus, as is familiarity with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). You are comfortable conducting staff debriefs and ensuring all paperwork is accurately completed. Your ability to allocate tasks effectively helps maintain workflow and meet daily performance targets. You are also skilled in managing staffing levels, addressing absences, and providing coaching to team members to enhance their performance.

What you'll do

In this role, you will collaborate with the Operations Shift Manager and Delivery Station Manager to drive innovation within the transportation networks. You will assist in the daily oversight and management of departmental tasks, ensuring that operations run smoothly and efficiently. You will conduct staff debriefs and ensure that all necessary paperwork is completed accurately and thoroughly. Your responsibilities will include allocating tasks to staff as needed to maintain workflow and meet daily performance targets. You will also ensure adequate staffing levels for your area, managing call outs for training and addressing absences as they arise.

You will support the onboarding and training of new associates, ensuring they possess the skills and knowledge necessary to deliver the best results for customers. Your role will require you to monitor department productivity continually, providing coaching and support to team members to help them achieve their goals. You will work in a 24/7 environment, and your shifts may change due to business needs, so flexibility is key.
