Amazon is seeking a Senior Re-Entry & Demise Analyst to lead analysis efforts for spacecraft demise and re-entry. You'll work with aerospace engineering principles and collaborate with design teams to ensure compliance with demise-related requirements.

Job Description

Who you are

You have a Bachelor's degree in aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering, materials science, physics, or a related field. Your experience includes working with hypersonics, orbital/suborbital re-entry, or space vehicle demise physics, which has equipped you with a strong understanding of the complexities involved in spacecraft analysis. You are detail-oriented and possess the ability to consume design details and material properties effectively, ensuring that all analysis efforts are thorough and accurate.

As a Senior Analyst, you have a proven track record of developing advanced analysis processes, templates, and guidelines that enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of your team's work. You are skilled in performing technical analysis to verify compliance with demise and re-entry related requirements, providing valuable design feedback to engineering teams. Your participation in design reviews showcases your collaborative spirit and commitment to excellence in engineering practices.

You thrive in environments that require a deep understanding of technical concepts and the ability to communicate complex ideas clearly. Your analytical mindset allows you to evaluate predicted vehicle breakup characteristics through re-entry, ensuring that all aspects of spacecraft demise are meticulously considered. You are a proactive problem-solver who enjoys tackling challenges and finding innovative solutions.

Desirable

Experience with space vehicle design and analysis processes is a plus, as is familiarity with relevant software tools used in aerospace engineering. You are open to continuous learning and staying updated on the latest advancements in the field, which enhances your ability to contribute effectively to your team.

What you'll do

In your role as a Senior Re-Entry & Demise Analyst, you will lead all analysis efforts supporting space vehicle end-of-life atmospheric re-entry. This involves collaborating with various teams to gather necessary design details and material properties, which you will then analyze to predict vehicle breakup characteristics during re-entry. You will be responsible for defining work instructions for analysis standardization, ensuring that all processes are streamlined and effective.

Your key responsibilities will include developing and standardizing advanced analysis processes, templates, and guidelines that will be utilized across the team. You will perform technical analyses to verify compliance with demise and re-entry related requirements, providing critical feedback to engineering teams to enhance design outcomes. Your participation in design reviews will be essential, as you will contribute your expertise to ensure that all designs meet the necessary standards for safety and performance.

You will also be expected to mentor junior analysts, sharing your knowledge and experience to help them grow in their roles. Your insights will be invaluable in shaping the future of spacecraft design and analysis at Amazon Leo, as you work towards delivering fast, reliable internet connectivity to customers in remote locations.
