Who you are
You have a strong background in product safety and quality assurance, particularly in high-risk food safety environments. Your experience includes developing and maintaining technical specifications for diverse product categories, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. You are skilled in reviewing supplier food safety plans and conducting risk assessments, providing technical guidance to product developers. You understand the importance of establishing testing requirements based on supplier data and regulatory needs, and you are adept at negotiating validation parameters for shelf-life studies.
You possess excellent analytical skills, allowing you to review supplier documents and test results effectively. Your ability to partner with legal teams on regulatory requirements demonstrates your understanding of the complexities involved in product safety. You are detail-oriented and committed to ensuring that products meet high-quality standards, and you thrive in collaborative environments where you can share your expertise with cross-functional teams.
What you'll do
In this role, you will be responsible for vetting the safety and quality of new and existing WFM products. You will investigate supplier programs and establish testing requirements that align with regulatory and WFM standards. Your work will involve developing and maintaining safety and quality technical specifications across various product categories, particularly those with high food-safety risks. You will enable commercialization activities by providing technical guidance to ensure compliance with quality and regulatory standards.
You will develop appropriate testing requirements, including chemical, microbiological, physical, and shelf-life testing, based on supplier data and existing profiles. Your responsibilities will include reviewing supplier food safety plans, product risk assessments, and applicable product claims to determine validation criteria. You will partner with product developers to incorporate product attributes into testing profiles and review supplier quality reports and facility risk assessments.
