Job Description
Who you are
You have 5+ years of experience in product design, particularly in creating consumer products that prioritize user experience and functionality. Your background includes mechanical part and assembly design, where you have successfully brought products from concept to market. You are skilled in collaborating with cross-disciplinary teams, ensuring that your designs meet both aesthetic and functional requirements. You possess a strong understanding of electromechanical systems and can effectively communicate design rationale and trade-offs to stakeholders. You are adept at working with manufacturing partners to scale designs for high-volume production while optimizing for cost and performance. Your ability to highlight design issues and provide actionable recommendations is a key strength.
Desirable
Experience with satellite technology or telecommunications products would be a plus, as would familiarity with high-volume manufacturing processes. A portfolio showcasing your design work and the impact it has had on user experience will set you apart.
What you'll do
In this role, you will engage with an experienced team to conceive and design innovative consumer products for the Amazon LEO program. Your responsibilities will include mechanical part and assembly design, testing, evaluating, and selecting the best design attributes. You will work closely with engineering teams to converge on electromechanical designs that meet project specifications. Your role will involve early collaboration with manufacturing partners to ensure designs are optimized for high-volume production. You will be responsible for communicating effectively with team members across various disciplines, including product development, hardware, and industrial design. You will also be expected to stay updated on industry trends and incorporate best practices into your design process.
