Who you are

You have experience in Critical Infrastructure Commissioning and are looking for a challenging role in a fast-paced environment. As a Retro Commissioning Engineer (CxE), you will be part of a creative team focused on optimizing the performance of Amazon's data centers in the northern Virginia region. You possess a strong understanding of various systems including HVAC, electrical power monitoring systems, and building management systems, and you are adept at managing third-party vendors and contractors.

You are skilled in providing oversight for testing and validation of AWS data center infrastructure. Your experience includes reviewing as-built documents and equipment submittals, leading Factory Witness Testing (FWT), and ensuring that all systems meet customer requirements and engineering designs. You thrive in environments where you can resolve technical issues and take action to address challenges effectively.

What you'll do

In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the retro commissioning of various systems in operational data centers. This includes managing the performance of onsite functional and integrated systems testing, ensuring that all systems operate efficiently and effectively. You will collaborate closely with vendors and contractors to ensure that all commissioning activities are executed according to established standards and practices.

You will lead the review of as-built documents and equipment submittals, ensuring that all necessary documentation is accurate and complete. Your role will also involve conducting Factory Witness Testing when applicable, providing you with the opportunity to engage directly with the equipment and systems being commissioned.

As a Retro Commissioning Engineer, you will be expected to take ownership of your projects, diving deep into technical issues to find solutions and demonstrating a bias for action in addressing challenges. You will play a critical role in supporting the operations of Amazon's data centers, contributing to the overall efficiency and reliability of the infrastructure.
