Job Description
Who you are
You have experience in Critical Infrastructure Commissioning and are looking for a challenging role in a fast-paced environment. As a Retro Commissioning Engineer, you will be part of a creative team focused on optimizing the performance of Amazon's data centers in the northern Virginia region. You are skilled in managing expectations of system performance and have a strong understanding of engineering designs to meet customer requirements.
You possess a solid background in overseeing vendors and contractors involved in retro commissioning various systems in operational data centers. Your expertise includes medium and low voltage power systems, generators, UPS, HVAC, chilled water systems, and building management systems (BMS). You are adept at providing testing and validation oversight of AWS data center infrastructure, ensuring that all systems function optimally.
What you'll do
In this role, you will review as-built documents and equipment submittals, lead Factory Witness Testing (FWT) when applicable, and manage third-party commissioning vendors during onsite functional and integrated systems testing. You will take ownership of your projects, diving deep to resolve technical issues and demonstrating a bias for action to address challenges effectively. Your responsibilities will include ensuring that all systems are tested thoroughly and meet the required performance standards.
You will collaborate closely with various teams to ensure that the commissioning process aligns with operational goals. Your role will involve continuous learning and adaptation as you tackle complex problems in the data center environment. You will also be responsible for documenting processes and outcomes to improve future commissioning efforts.
