Job Description
Who you are
You have extensive experience in credit risk management, ideally with a focus on digital credit products. Your strategic mindset allows you to navigate complex financial landscapes, particularly in Brazil, where you understand the competitive environment for payments and financial products. You thrive in entrepreneurial settings, demonstrating the ability to manage ambiguity and prioritize effectively in fast-paced situations. Your leadership skills are proven through your track record of managing large-scale projects and driving initiatives that balance growth with risk mitigation.
You possess strong analytical skills, enabling you to develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to credit risk. Your expertise in defining credit risk frameworks, including underwriting policies and governance models, sets you apart. You are also adept at leading fraud prevention strategies, collaborating with cross-functional teams to address emerging fraud patterns and ensure the integrity of credit products.
Your ability to design and optimize collections and recovery strategies showcases your comprehensive understanding of the credit lifecycle. You are skilled in developing treatment paths and vendor strategies that enhance recovery rates while minimizing customer friction. Your experience in data analysis allows you to leverage insights to inform decision-making and improve overall performance metrics.
Desirable
Experience in the Brazilian payments landscape is a significant advantage, as is familiarity with digital credit products. A background in working with data science teams to enhance product offerings through data-driven insights would be beneficial. You are comfortable with ambiguity and can adapt strategies based on evolving market conditions.
What you'll do
In this role, you will own and drive the end-to-end credit risk strategy for Amazon Payments in Brazil. This includes balancing growth, profitability, and loss mitigation across various products and customer segments. You will define and evolve credit risk frameworks, ensuring they align with the company's vision and regulatory requirements. Your leadership will be crucial in developing underwriting policies and decision rules that guide credit assessments.
You will lead the fraud and abuse strategy, partnering closely with Fraud, Trust & Safety teams to prevent misuse and address emerging fraud patterns. Your role will involve designing and optimizing collections and recovery strategies, where you will analyze segmentation and treatment paths to enhance recovery outcomes. You will also develop and monitor risk KPIs, ensuring that performance metrics such as first payment default (FPD) and non-performing loans (NPL) are tracked and reported effectively.
Collaboration will be key in this position, as you will work closely with Product and Data Science teams to support the launch and management of new credit products. Your insights will help shape product features that meet customer needs while adhering to risk management principles. You will also engage with global teams to share best practices and align strategies across regions.
