Who you are
You have a strong background in safety management, particularly in transportation, with a focus on creating a robust safety culture. Your experience includes collaborating with various teams to ensure compliance with safety standards and reduce incidents on the road. You are skilled in monitoring and analyzing safety metrics to drive improvements and have a proven track record of engaging with transportation partners to uphold safety practices. You understand the importance of harmonizing safety standards across different operational areas, ensuring that both on-the-road and on-site safety practices are effectively implemented.
You are a subject matter expert in road safety, capable of serving as the primary representative for the Global Road Safety organization in your region. Your strategic oversight is complemented by hands-on operational management, allowing you to effectively address safety challenges and foster a culture of safety within the organization. You are adept at building relationships with local operations and support teams, ensuring that safety standards are not only met but are practical and effective in real-world scenarios.
What you'll do
In this role, you will lead efforts to drive transportation safety excellence across the West region of the USA. You will collaborate closely with local operations and support teams to execute road safety standards, ensuring that all safety practices are harmonized between on-the-road and on-site operations. Your responsibilities will include monitoring key road safety metrics, analyzing data to identify trends, and reporting on safety incidents to inform continuous improvement efforts. You will engage with contracted transportation partners, such as Amazon Delivery Service Partners and Middle Mile carriers, to ensure their conformance to Amazon's safety standards.
You will serve as the primary link between local teams and the Global Road Safety organization, ensuring that safety standards and procedures are practical and drive compliance. Your role will involve reducing safety incidents by implementing effective safety standard work and utilizing resources provided by the greater GRS organization. You will also be responsible for standardizing incident management practices across your region, contributing to a safer transportation environment for all stakeholders.
