Who you are
You have over 8 years of software development experience, with at least 3 years in management roles — you've successfully led teams in complex environments and understand the intricacies of software development lifecycle methodologies. Your deep understanding of SDLC principles allows you to adapt and apply them flexibly to meet operational needs, ensuring that your team delivers high-quality software on time.
Your experience includes release management for distributed systems or large-scale deployments — you've designed and optimized release pipelines that balance speed, safety, and reliability. You have a strong technical background in embedded software development, which is a significant asset in this role. You are committed to establishing quality standards and driving continuous improvement initiatives to reduce defects and deployment risks.
You excel at building and mentoring high-performing teams — fostering a culture of quality, operational excellence, and continuous learning is second nature to you. You are a strong communicator, capable of coordinating cross-functional teams to ensure seamless software delivery from development to on-orbit deployment.
Desirable
Experience with satellite systems or aerospace software development would be a plus, as would familiarity with metrics, monitoring, and reporting frameworks for mission-critical systems. Your track record of designing systems with quality and scalability as core principles sets you apart.
What you'll do
In this role, you will lead and execute the flight software release management strategy for large-scale constellation deployments — your leadership will ensure that software releases meet the highest quality standards. You will coordinate with cross-functional teams to facilitate seamless software delivery, from development through to on-orbit deployment.
You will define and enforce quality standards for flight software releases, establishing metrics and monitoring frameworks to ensure reliability. Your focus on continuous improvement will drive initiatives aimed at reducing defects and deployment risks, implementing quality gates and validation processes appropriate for mission-critical systems.
As a team leader, you will build, mentor, and scale a high-performing software release management team — you will foster a culture of quality and operational excellence, encouraging continuous learning and improvement among your team members. Your ability to adapt and apply SDLC principles flexibly will be crucial in meeting the complex operational needs of the Leo initiative.
