Who you are
You have a strong background in electrical engineering with a focus on propulsion systems — your expertise in electric propulsion technologies allows you to drive innovation and influence design decisions. You possess leadership abilities that enable you to guide test, manufacturing, and mechanical engineers on best practices in propulsion design.
With experience in systems engineering, you understand the complexities of spacecraft propulsion systems — your knowledge spans propellant storage, magnetic circuit design, and thermal management, ensuring that you can contribute effectively to all aspects of propulsion system development.
You are a subject matter expert in electric propulsion systems, capable of advising on avionics requirements and embedded software design — your technical depth allows you to tackle challenges and propose solutions that enhance system performance.
Your collaborative nature enables you to work effectively with cross-functional teams, ensuring that all engineering disciplines are aligned in achieving project goals — you thrive in environments where communication and teamwork are key to success.
Desirable
Experience with satellite systems or aerospace engineering is a plus — familiarity with the unique challenges of low Earth orbit operations will set you apart. A passion for innovation in connectivity solutions will drive your contributions to the Amazon Leo mission.
What you'll do
As a Senior Electric Propulsion Engineer, you will lead the design and development of electric propulsion systems for the Amazon Leo satellite constellation — your role will involve influencing all aspects of propulsion system architecture and ensuring that designs meet performance and reliability standards. You will collaborate closely with test and manufacturing teams to implement best practices and optimize system performance.
You will be responsible for advising on propellant delivery systems and magnetic circuit designs, ensuring that all components work seamlessly together — your insights will directly impact the efficiency and effectiveness of the propulsion systems.
In addition to technical responsibilities, you will mentor junior engineers and foster a culture of innovation within the team — your leadership will help shape the future of propulsion technologies at Amazon Leo.
