amo is hiring a Mobile Engineer to join their Android team and contribute to product design and feature development. You'll work with low-level APIs and custom rendering systems in Paris.
Job Description
Who you are
You are an early-career engineer eager to dive into the world of Android development. You have a foundational understanding of Android and are excited about contributing to a product-centric company from the ground up. Your versatility allows you to engage in various aspects of the company's foundation, and you are committed to becoming a subject matter expert in your domain. You thrive in collaborative environments and are ready to take ownership of central components and features.
You possess a keen interest in feature development, particularly in delivering unique and high-quality UI features. Your expertise in low-level APIs, shader creation for dynamic effects, and custom rendering systems will be invaluable as you push the boundaries of what's possible in Android development. You are motivated by the opportunity to work closely with the founding team and contribute to the roadmap creation and ideation process.
What you'll do
As a Mobile Engineer at amo, you will be at the forefront of feature development, actively participating in delivering high-quality UI features in a fast-paced environment. You will work closely with the founding team, gradually taking ownership of central components and features that are critical to the company's success. Your role will involve creating and enhancing the platform, including writing careful abstractions that other Android team members will use, such as media encoding, decoding, and playback.
You will also contribute to the development of libraries that incorporate performance tracing and associated internal tooling. Your work will extend beyond individual features, as you will be involved in developing cross-company components that enhance the overall user experience. Additionally, you will play a key role in the roadmap creation and ideation process, ensuring that your insights and experiences shape the direction of the product.
What we offer
amo is committed to supporting your relocation to Paris, offering assistance with the visa process and covering your first month of Airbnb upon arrival. You will receive help from a trusted relocation agency to find your permanent home and assistance with French paperwork, including opening a French social security account and obtaining your carte vitale for free healthcare. We also provide French lessons to help you settle into your new Parisian life.
