What you'll do

As the Engineering Manager for the Observability team at Anthropic, you will own the metrics platform end-to-end, ensuring its design, reliability, and operational excellence. You will lead a growing team of software engineers, guiding them in their work and helping them to develop their skills. You will collaborate closely with technical leads to align on architecture and execution, ensuring that the metrics infrastructure meets the needs of the organization. You will also build strong partnerships with internal customers across various teams, including infrastructure, training, and inference, to manage priorities effectively. Your role will involve strategic planning and execution, as well as hands-on leadership to ensure the success of the team and the infrastructure they manage. You will be responsible for fostering a culture of high performance and accountability within the team, driving initiatives that enhance the observability capabilities of Anthropic's systems.
