Anthropic is hiring a Technical Program Manager for their Research team to define and build programs that support research initiatives. You'll work closely with researchers to identify needs and create impactful processes. This role requires strong organizational skills and the ability to navigate complex projects.
Job Description
Who you are
You have a strong background in program management, ideally within research or technical environments — you understand the nuances of working with researchers and can effectively bridge the gap between technical needs and project execution. You thrive in ambiguous situations and can establish structure where none exists, ensuring that teams can focus on their core research objectives.
You possess excellent communication skills, enabling you to build trust with researchers and technical leaders — your ability to listen and understand their challenges allows you to identify high-leverage problems to solve. You are adept at driving complex initiatives that span multiple teams, often without established playbooks or precedents, and you enjoy the challenge of creating processes that enhance productivity.
What you'll do
As a Technical Program Manager for Research at Anthropic, you will embed deeply within a research domain to understand the technical landscape and the specific needs of the research teams. Your role will involve driving the end-to-end execution of complex research initiatives, ensuring that all stakeholders are aligned and that projects progress smoothly.
You will establish processes and frameworks that bring structure to unstructured research environments, allowing researchers to focus on their work without being bogged down by administrative tasks. Your insights will help identify the biggest opportunities for impact, and you will be responsible for building the programs, processes, and tooling that facilitate effective collaboration across teams.
You will work closely with researchers to understand their workflows and identify gaps that need to be addressed. This may involve coordinating compute resources, managing timelines, and ensuring that all necessary tools are in place to support their research efforts. Your ability to navigate complex projects and foster collaboration will be key to your success in this role.

We offer competitive compensation and benefits, including optional equity donation matching, generous vacation and parental leave, and flexible working hours.
