Who you are

You have over 5 years of experience in security engineering, with a strong background in application security practices and methodologies. You understand the importance of integrating security into the software development lifecycle and have experience overseeing security initiatives in a collaborative environment. Your leadership skills enable you to manage and grow a team of application security engineers, ensuring they deliver high-impact projects that enhance the security posture of the organization.

You are well-versed in threat modeling, secure design reviews, and vulnerability management. You have a deep understanding of security risks and mitigation strategies, and you can effectively communicate these to technical and non-technical stakeholders alike. Your experience includes developing security policies, standards, and training content that empower teams to adopt security best practices.

You thrive in a collaborative environment, working closely with product and research teams to instill security best practices across the organization. You are passionate about automation and scalability in security processes, and you encourage your team to innovate and build tools that enable self-service security solutions.

Desirable

Experience with bug bounty programs and vulnerability disclosure processes is a plus. Familiarity with secure coding practices and training is also beneficial. You are proactive in seeking out new security trends and technologies that can enhance the security of Anthropic's products.

What you'll do

As the Application Security Engineering Manager, you will oversee the security efforts of the Application Security team, focusing on integrating security into the software development lifecycle. You will ensure that your team has the right processes and procedures in place to assist with threat modeling, secure design reviews, and security code reviews. You will operate the vulnerability management program and help develop security policies and standards that guide the organization.

You will collaborate with various teams across Anthropic, providing guidance on security risks and mitigation strategies. Your role will involve building partnerships with product and research teams to instill security best practices and ensure that security is a priority in all development efforts.
