You have 5+ years of experience in software engineering, particularly in data infrastructure and security — you've designed and implemented robust systems that prioritize data privacy and compliance. Your expertise in cloud technologies, especially AWS, allows you to build scalable and secure data solutions that meet business needs.

You are proficient in Python and SQL, enabling you to create efficient data pipelines and manage large datasets effectively — your experience with Docker helps you streamline development and deployment processes. You thrive in collaborative environments, working closely with data scientists and analysts to ensure that data systems are user-friendly and reliable.

You possess strong problem-solving skills and a keen understanding of data governance and access control — you have successfully implemented IAM policies and security controls that scale across diverse user bases. Your ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders makes you an asset in cross-functional teams.

Desirable

Experience with data governance frameworks and compliance requirements is a plus — familiarity with audit logging and permission management will enhance your contributions to the team. Knowledge of additional cloud platforms or data processing tools will be beneficial as you tackle diverse challenges in this role.

What you'll do

As a Staff Engineer in the Data Infrastructure team, you will design and implement secure access control systems that ensure only authorized users can access sensitive data — your work will involve building infrastructure for permission management and compliance requirements. You will also be responsible for developing data pipelines and warehouses that support business-critical reporting, ensuring that data is processed quickly and accurately.

You will collaborate with data scientists and analysts to understand their needs and translate them into technical solutions — your role will require you to dive deep into cloud infrastructure primitives, ensuring that the systems you build are both reliable and efficient. You will tackle challenges such as architecting access control systems and ensuring cloud storage reliability, contributing to the overall mission of Anthropic to create beneficial AI systems.
