Overview
AnySignal is hiring a Software Engineer specializing in Low-Level Networking to develop highly reliable software systems for space applications. You'll work with C++, C, and various networking protocols in Los Angeles.
Job Description
Who you are
You have 4+ years of experience developing C++/C software for Linux-based systems — you've tackled complex networking challenges and understand the intricacies of low-level programming. Your expertise in networking protocols such as TCP and UDP allows you to design and implement solutions tailored for demanding applications, particularly in the space and defense sectors.
Your background includes exposure to Linux kernel development, which has equipped you with the skills to optimize performance and reliability in embedded systems. You are comfortable writing production-quality code in Python or Golang, and you thrive in environments that require high-performance systems and large-scale distributed architectures.
You are a collaborative team player who values feedback on architecture and design — you understand that well-designed software systems are crucial for meeting stringent requirements. Your ability to communicate effectively with cross-functional teams ensures that you can contribute to the overall success of projects.
Desirable
Experience with packet multiplexing logic and implementing networking protocols designed for space applications would be a significant advantage. If you have a passion for developing software that operates in high-stakes environments, we encourage you to apply even if your experience doesn't match every requirement.
What you'll do
In this role, you will play a key part in the development of software systems that are both highly reliable and available for low latency and high capacity. You will provide feedback on architecture, design, and code to ensure that the software systems meet the requirements of our terrestrial network and customer payloads in space.
You will implement networking protocols specifically designed for space applications, ensuring that our solutions are robust and efficient. Your responsibilities will include designing and implementing packet multiplexing logic, which is essential for optimizing data transmission in challenging environments.
You will collaborate closely with other engineers and stakeholders to ensure that the software you develop integrates seamlessly with flight computers, ground stations, and embedded Linux boxes. Your contributions will directly impact the performance and reliability of our RF products and services.
What we offer
At AnySignal, you will be part of a dynamic startup environment where innovation is at the forefront of our mission. We offer flexible work arrangements, including part-time or contracting opportunities, to accommodate your preferences. Join us in shaping the future of RF technology and contribute to projects that have a meaningful impact on space and defense missions.
We provide a supportive culture that values diverse backgrounds and encourages professional growth. You will have the opportunity to work with cutting-edge technologies and collaborate with a team of experts in various fields, from cloud computing to artificial intelligence.
We believe in fostering an inclusive environment where every team member can thrive and contribute to our shared goals. If you are ready to take on exciting challenges and make a difference, we would love to hear from you.
