You have hands-on experience in fraud prevention or trust & safety, ideally at scale — your background in engineering emphasizes reliability and problem-solving, allowing you to tackle complex challenges effectively. You possess the ability to analyze intricate signals and translate them into actionable detection logic, ensuring a proactive approach to fraud mitigation. You are practical and comfortable taking ownership of projects, collaborating across teams to enhance user experience while maintaining security.

Desirable

Experience with machine learning techniques for fraud detection would be a plus, as well as familiarity with regulatory compliance in the tech industry. You thrive in environments where you can share knowledge and document processes, contributing to a culture of continuous improvement.

What you'll do

In this role, you will design and run fraud detection systems to protect signups, payments, usage, and marketplace activity. You will build and refine risk models, rules, and signals that stop abuse in real time, ensuring a smooth experience for legitimate users. Investigating new attack patterns and deploying mitigations quickly will be a key part of your responsibilities, as will developing internal tools and processes to support incident response and investigations. You will collaborate closely with Product, Security, and Finance teams to balance safety with user experience, documenting and sharing playbooks for common attack types to enhance team readiness.
