Who you are

You have hands-on experience in engineering, cloud, or as a software engineering staff member, with a strong foundation in programming and scripting fundamentals, particularly in Python and Bash. Your expertise in modern web services architectures and cloud platforms such as AWS and GCP allows you to effectively support large-scale engineering projects. You are familiar with source control management tools like Git and SVN, and possess a solid understanding of Linux fundamentals, including experience with hardening operating system images.

Your experience extends to log mining frameworks such as Splunk, Elastic, and Prometheus, which you utilize for monitoring and investigating system problems. You are adept at using container services like Docker and Kubernetes, and have a background in UNIX system administration. Your knowledge of build and release systems, along with NoSQL databases and tools like Zookeeper, Spark, and Mesos, positions you as a valuable asset to any engineering team.

What you'll do

As a Senior Cloud Engineer on Apple's Health team, you will be responsible for automating solutions and optimizing outcomes in a fast-changing software delivery environment. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to craft innovative products that enhance customer experiences. Your role will involve designing and implementing cloud-based solutions, ensuring high availability and reliability of services, and participating in a weekly on-call rotation to support system operations.

You will leverage your skills in cloud platforms to develop and maintain infrastructure, focusing on continuous integration and continuous deployment practices. Your contributions will directly impact the efficiency and effectiveness of the engineering support provided to the Health team, enabling the delivery of exceptional products that delight millions of users.
