What you'll do

In this role, you will lead a team responsible for delivering a scalable and reliable Solr platform that meets Apple’s rapidly evolving product needs. You will define the technical direction for the team, upholding engineering rigor and ensuring operational excellence across the Solr ecosystem. Your responsibilities will include hiring, mentoring, and growing engineers who work on both internal platform capabilities and upstream open-source efforts. You will collaborate closely with Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), Engineering Program Management (EPM), and product teams to align platform strategy and support customer-facing initiatives. You will also be involved in driving the evolution of Apple’s search infrastructure, ensuring that it meets the demands of hundreds of millions of users.
