Apple is seeking a Graphics (GPU) Architectural Modeling Engineer to drive the development and validation of advanced GPU designs. You'll work with System Verilog and VHDL to create architectural models for high-performance processors. This role requires expertise in GPU architecture and modeling.

Job Description

Who you are

You have a strong background in hardware engineering, particularly in the area of graphics processing units (GPUs). Your experience includes developing architectural models and validating GPU designs, ensuring they meet performance and power efficiency standards. You are skilled in System Verilog and VHDL, which are essential for creating accurate models that facilitate hardware/software co-validation. You thrive in collaborative environments, working with multi-functional teams to drive best practices in hardware and software solutions. Your analytical mindset allows you to debug and triage regression failures effectively, identifying root causes and implementing solutions. You are committed to improving modeling infrastructure and coding practices, contributing to the overall success of the team.

Desirable

Experience with pre-silicon functional and performance modeling is a plus, as is familiarity with the latest trends in GPU architecture. A passion for crafting elegant solutions to complex challenges will set you apart in this role. You are eager to learn and grow within the field, staying updated on advancements in GPU technology and architectural modeling techniques.

What you'll do

In this role, you will be responsible for driving the development, validation, and verification of advanced GPU designs and architectures. You will create bit-accurate architectural models that facilitate hardware/software co-validation, ensuring that the designs meet the high standards expected at Apple. Your work will involve developing timing-accurate architectural and micro-architectural models for performance validation and correlation, which are critical for the success of our next-generation processors. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement best practices in both hardware and software solutions, ensuring that all aspects of the GPU design are optimized for performance and efficiency. Additionally, you will take the lead in triaging regression failures, debugging issues to their root causes, and presenting your findings to the team. Your contributions will directly impact the quality and performance of Apple’s devices, making them beloved by millions.

What we offer
