Job Description

Who you are

You have over 10 years of experience in GPU physical design, focusing on performance, power, and area (PPA) optimizations. Your background includes working with industry-standard physical design tools and collaborating with multi-functional teams to tackle complex challenges in technology enablement. You possess strong scripting skills in Python, TCL, or Perl, which you leverage to automate processes and enhance design methodologies. Your analytical mindset allows you to identify key issues and propose effective solutions in the design flow. You thrive in a collaborative environment, working closely with front-end, physical design, and static timing analysis teams to ensure the success of next-generation GPU designs.

Desirable

Experience with advanced technology nodes and a deep understanding of GPU architecture will set you apart. Familiarity with power analysis and reduction techniques across architecture and gate-level design is a plus. You are comfortable analyzing frequency and voltage choices, making informed decisions based on PPA trade-offs.

What you'll do

In this role, you will be responsible for enabling the latest technology nodes for GPU designs, ensuring that Apple products can efficiently handle demanding tasks. You will drive collaboration among various teams, including front-end, physical design, and static timing analysis, to improve the overall performance and efficiency of the graphics chips. Your responsibilities will include identifying and resolving challenges related to technology enablement, as well as working with custom design teams to analyze and recommend methodologies for standard cell and memory hard-IP offerings. You will also collaborate with power teams to analyze GPU power consumption and provide recommendations for power reduction strategies.
