Apple is hiring a GPU Top Level Physical Design Engineer to design and manufacture high-performance GPUs. You'll work with ASIC integration and physical design methodologies in Austin. This role requires a BS degree and 3+ years of relevant experience.

Job Description

Who you are

You have a BS degree and at least 3 years of relevant experience in hardware engineering, particularly in ASIC integration. Your expertise includes physical design and you have a keen eye for detail, understanding the importance of every aspect in the design process. You thrive in collaborative environments, working closely with cross-functional teams to drive the physical aspects of design early in the cycle. Your experience has equipped you with the ability to develop methodologies and best practices that lead to best-in-class GPU design. You are passionate about innovation and are eager to contribute to the development of next-generation technology that powers Apple devices.

Desirable

Experience with large chip integration and a strong understanding of the complete chip design process from netlist to tapeout would be advantageous. Familiarity with PD guidelines and checklists will help you excel in this role, as will your ability to supervise progress and communicate effectively with various teams.

What you'll do

As a GPU Top Level Physical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for implementing complete chip designs, ensuring that all physical design aspects are addressed from the outset. You will collaborate with the front-end team to understand RTL and drive physical design considerations early in the design cycle. Your role will involve developing PD guidelines and checklists, driving execution, and supervising the progress of projects. You will serve as the focal point for place and route integration at the top level, ensuring that all aspects of the design meet Apple's high standards for performance and efficiency. You will also communicate the needs of physical design to cross-functional teams, enabling the achievement of project goals.
