Who you are

You have a minimum of a Bachelor's degree and 3+ years of relevant industry experience, particularly in CPU implementation. Your experience includes scripting in Perl or TCL, which you have used to enhance design processes. You are familiar with high-performance microprocessor architecture and understand logic design principles, including timing and area considerations.

You thrive in collaborative environments, working closely with micro-architects to define memory subsystems and make critical trade-offs regarding area, frequency, performance, and power. Your ability to balance pipeline stages is essential to your role, and you are committed to delivering high-quality designs.

What you'll do

As a CPU Implementation Engineer at Apple, you will own or participate in the design and implementation of CPU block-level components. You will drive the RTL-to-GDS flow through synthesis and place-and-route, targeting ambitious goals for power, performance, and area. Your role will involve working with a multi-functional engineering team to implement and validate physical designs, ensuring they meet timing, area, reliability, testability, and power requirements.

You will engage in feasibility studies and design delivery, collaborating with various teams to ensure that the designs are robust and meet Apple's high standards. Your contributions will directly impact the next groundbreaking Apple product, and you will be part of a team that has reinvented entire industries with innovative technologies.
