Job Description
Who you are
You have a minimum of a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field and possess academic coursework or industry experience in VLSI and digital circuit design. Your familiarity with scripting languages such as Perl or TCL allows you to automate tasks and enhance design processes effectively. You have a solid understanding of high-performance microprocessor architecture, which enables you to contribute meaningfully to the design and implementation of complex systems. Your knowledge of logic design complements your technical skills, making you a well-rounded candidate for this role.
What you'll do
As a CPU Implementation Engineer at Apple, you will take ownership of or participate in defining the memory subsystem alongside micro-architects. You will perform feasibility studies and make critical trade-offs regarding area, frequency, performance, and power. Your role will involve driving the RTL-to-GDS flow through synthesis and place-and-route, targeting ambitious goals for power, performance, and area. You will collaborate with a multi-functional engineering team to implement and validate physical designs, ensuring they meet the necessary criteria for timing, area, reliability, testability, and power.
