Who you are

You have a strong background in CPU design and implementation, with experience in block-level design delivery and backend flows. Your expertise in RTL and GDS tools allows you to drive design convergence effectively, ensuring optimal power, performance, and area (PPA) trade-offs. You are comfortable collaborating with micro-architects and cross-functional teams to define micro-architecture and assess design feasibility. Your analytical skills enable you to improve silicon yield and address electrical requirements efficiently.

You possess a solid understanding of industry-standard synthesis and place-and-route tools, and you are eager to work closely with internal CAD and PD methodology teams to adopt new features and optimizations in CPU design. Your ability to communicate effectively with cross-functional teams ensures that aspects of CPU floorplan, timing, power, reliability, and testability are well-coordinated throughout the design process.

What you'll do

As a CPU Implementation Engineer at Apple, you will be responsible for driving block-level design delivery and ensuring closure of backend flows. You will collaborate with micro-architects to define the micro-architecture and assist in evaluating design feasibility, focusing on power, performance, and area (PPA) trade-offs. Your role will involve optimizing RTL designs and utilizing synthesis and place-and-route tools to achieve ambitious design goals.

You will work closely with cross-functional teams to address CPU floorplan, timing, power, reliability, and testability aspects, ensuring that all design elements are aligned and meet the required specifications. Your contributions will play a crucial role in improving silicon yield and enhancing the overall performance of Apple's CPU products.
