Who you are
You have a minimum of 10 years of relevant industry experience in physical design, particularly in the context of System on Chip (SoC) implementations. Your educational background includes a BS in Electrical/Electronics/Computer Engineering or a related field, with a preference for a Master's degree. You possess strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset, enabling you to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
Your expertise lies in the physical implementation of design partitions, where you have successfully driven projects from netlist to tapeout. You are adept at timing, physical, and electrical verification, ensuring that all design goals are met efficiently. You have a proven track record of resolving design and flow issues, identifying potential solutions, and executing them effectively.
You are passionate about optimizing PnR (Place and Route) partitions to achieve the best Power/Performance/Area metrics. Your experience includes working with innovative process technologies and understanding partition architecture early in the design cycle. You thrive in environments that challenge your technical skills and allow you to contribute to groundbreaking products.
Desirable
Experience with advanced P&R tools and methodologies is a plus, as is familiarity with the latest trends in semiconductor technology. You are always looking to improve your skills and stay updated with industry advancements, which enhances your ability to contribute to Apple's innovative projects.
What you'll do
In this role, you will be directly responsible for the physical implementation of design partitions for highly complex SOCs. You will collaborate closely with the logic design team to understand the architecture and drive the physical aspects early in the design cycle. Your responsibilities will include completing netlist to GDS2 implementation for partitions while meeting schedule and design goals.
You will conduct timing, physical, and electrical verification, driving the signoff closure for the partitions. Your role will also involve resolving and improving design and flow issues related to physical design, identifying potential solutions, and executing them effectively. You will be tasked with optimizing PnR partitions to achieve the best Power/Performance/Area metrics, ensuring that Apple's products maintain their high standards of quality and performance.
