Who you are

You have a BS degree in a technical discipline and at least 10 years of relevant experience in hardware engineering, particularly in analog mixed-signal design. Your expertise includes leading the definition of high-speed SERDES receivers, transmitters, and clocking blocks, showcasing a deep understanding of adaptation and optimization algorithms. You are proficient in DSP concepts and applications, and you have familiarity with mixed-signal modeling in Python, MATLAB, or C/C++. Your experience extends to system design and performance trade-offs, and you are comfortable working with simulation tools for analog, digital, and mixed-signal circuits.

You possess a strong understanding of communications and information theory, which allows you to effectively contribute to the design and verification of complex systems. Your background may also include familiarity with machine learning concepts, enhancing your ability to innovate in the field. Additionally, experience in firmware or embedded software development is a plus, as it complements your hardware expertise.

What you'll do

In this role, you will drive the definition of next-generation SERDES IPs that will be integral to Apple's silicon offerings, ensuring breakthrough power and performance for devices like iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Apple Watch. You will define the micro architecture of analog mixed-signal IPs with a strong emphasis on SERDES design, collaborating closely with silicon evaluation and design verification teams to establish expected behavior and performance requirements.

Your responsibilities will include reviewing firmware code and verifying that designs meet stringent performance criteria. You will lead the debug efforts during system bring-up and factory testing, working alongside signal integrity engineers to determine system requirements. Your role will require you to engage in cross-functional collaboration, ensuring that all aspects of the design process are aligned with Apple's high standards for quality and performance.
