Job Description
Who you are
You have a BS degree in a technical discipline and at least 10 years of relevant experience in hardware engineering, specifically in the design and architecture of high-speed SERDES systems. Your deep understanding of adaptation and optimization algorithms, along with communications and information theory, sets you apart in this field. You are proficient in equalizers, timing recovery, and system identification, and you have a solid grasp of DSP concepts and applications. Familiarity with mixed-signal modeling in Python, MATLAB, or C/C++ is essential, as is experience in system design and performance trade-offs. You also have a basic understanding of machine learning concepts and experience in firmware or embedded software development is a plus.
What you'll do
In this role, you will lead the definition of next-generation SERDES IPs that will be integral to Apple silicon, enhancing power and performance for devices like iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Apple Watch. You will define the micro architecture of analog mixed-signal IPs with a strong emphasis on SERDES design. Your responsibilities will include reviewing firmware code and analog and digital circuits to ensure that designs meet performance requirements. You will collaborate closely with silicon evaluation and design verification teams to define expected behavior and lead the debug efforts during system bring-up and factory testing. Additionally, you will work with signal integrity engineers to determine system requirements, ensuring that all aspects of the design are optimized for performance.
