Overview
Apple is hiring a Senior Hardware Engineer to focus on WSoC PHY/MAC validation and integration. You'll work on optimizing physical layer components in wireless communication systems, requiring expertise in DSP and wireless protocols.
Job Description
Who you are
You have a Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 10 years of relevant industry experience, particularly in wireless communications. Your proven experience in PHY layer design and integration showcases your deep understanding of the complexities involved in wireless systems.
Your solid grasp of Digital Signal Processing (DSP) concepts allows you to implement DSP algorithms in real-time systems effectively. You are familiar with chip-level bring-up and have hands-on experience with hardware debugging tools, which is crucial for this role.
You possess verification skills that include problem-solving, constrained random testing, and debugging, making you a valuable asset to any cross-functional team. Your experience with PHY/RF/MAC verification and RF parametric testing, such as EVM and ACPR, demonstrates your capability in ensuring compliance and reliability in wireless connectivity solutions.
Your familiarity with lab equipment, including network analyzers and oscilloscopes, equips you to conduct thorough testing and validation of wireless systems. Additionally, your programming skills in Python are highly desirable, enabling you to automate processes and enhance system performance.
What you'll do
In this role, you will design, integrate, and validate PHY layer components for various wireless communication protocols, including Bluetooth and UWB. You will implement and optimize DSP algorithms for signal modulation, demodulation, filtering, and error correction to enhance wireless performance.
You will conduct FPGA and chip-level bring-up, ensuring that all components function seamlessly together. Collaborating with cross-functional teams, you will troubleshoot and debug issues that arise during the integration process, ensuring that the final product meets high standards of performance and reliability.
Your responsibilities will also include conducting RF parametric testing to validate the performance of wireless systems. You will work closely with other engineers to ensure that all aspects of the wireless communication systems are optimized for efficiency and effectiveness.
What we offer
At Apple, you will be part of a diverse and inclusive team that values collaboration and innovation. We encourage you to apply even if your experience doesn't match every requirement. You will have the opportunity to work on cutting-edge technology that impacts millions of users worldwide, contributing to the future of wireless communication.
We offer competitive compensation and benefits, along with a supportive work environment that fosters professional growth and development. Join us in our mission to create the best wireless solutions and make a difference in the technology landscape.
