Job Description
Who you are
You have a Bachelor's degree and at least 10 years of relevant industry experience in wireless communications, with a strong focus on PHY layer design and integration. Your solid understanding of Digital Signal Processing (DSP) concepts allows you to implement DSP algorithms in real-time systems effectively. You are familiar with chip-level bring-up and have experience with tools and techniques for hardware debugging.
Your expertise extends to PHY/RF/MAC verification, and you have hands-on experience with RF parametric testing such as EVM, ACPR, Rx sensitivity, and blocker testing. You are comfortable using lab equipment like network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, and DMMs. Proficiency in Python programming is highly desirable, and you possess knowledge of wireless protocols such as Bluetooth, WLAN, and UWB.
What you'll do
In this role, you will design, integrate, and validate PHY layer components for various wireless communication protocols, including Bluetooth, Zigbee, and UWB. You will implement and optimize DSP algorithms for signal modulation, demodulation, filtering, and error correction to enhance wireless performance. Your responsibilities will also include conducting FPGA and chip-level bring-up, ensuring seamless performance, compliance, and reliability of wireless connectivity solutions.
You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to address integration challenges and debug issues that arise during the development process. Your verification skills will be crucial in problem-solving, constrained random testing, and debugging to ensure the highest quality of wireless communication systems. You will play a key role in the optimization of physical layer components, contributing to the advancement of Apple's wireless technologies.
