Overview

Apple is hiring a Vision Pro Display Technology Engineer to define next-gen architecture for Apple Vision products. You'll work on display technologies, hardware, and software development in Sunnyvale, California.

Job Description

Who you are

You hold a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field and have at least 3 years of relevant experience in display backplane design and display architecture. Your expertise includes image processing and digital signal processing, allowing you to analyze trade-offs between performance, manufacturability, and cost effectively. You possess good communication and leadership skills, enabling you to collaborate efficiently across internal teams and vendor teams. Your hands-on experimental ability with prototyping experience sets you apart, and you have a solid understanding of system characterization and modeling.

You may also have a PhD or equivalent experience in Electrical Engineering, or an MSEE degree with 5 years of work experience. Your capability in theoretical analysis complements your practical skills, making you a well-rounded candidate for this role. Experience in optics, device physics, or machine learning is a plus, showcasing your versatility in the field.

What you'll do

In this role, you will be the focal point for defining the next-generation architecture for Apple Vision products. You will work on a wide range of topics, including prototyping, hardware and silicon definition, software and algorithm development, and hands-on characterization. Your responsibilities will include comparing and scoping display and optics technologies, analyzing trade-offs, and defining architecture for new display technologies with a deep understanding of system requirements and human perception.

You will define detailed specifications, including the display panel, driving ASICs, software/firmware algorithms, and test/calibration procedures. Promoting innovation and new technology to improve Apple's display performance and user experience will be a key part of your role. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that the display technologies meet the high standards expected by Apple.
