Overview

Apple is seeking a Senior Legal Counsel to support its Wallets, Payments, and Commerce team. You'll provide product counseling and regulatory advice while negotiating complex commercial agreements. This role requires significant experience in payments law and transactional work.

Job Description

Who you are

You are an experienced Payments Attorney with a strong commercial and transactional focus, ideally with over 5 years of experience in providing product advice for mobile wallets and various payment services. You thrive in fast-paced transactional work and have a proven track record in drafting and negotiating complex commercial agreements. Your expertise in intellectual property law and technology transactions is preferred, and you possess a deep understanding of Irish and European directives, laws, and regulations impacting payments, financial services, open banking, e-commerce, and consumer finance.

You have strong collaboration skills and a solid work ethic, enabling you to effectively advise on a wide range of issues related to offering and using consumer financial products and services through mobile wallets. Your knowledge of laws applicable to personal financial information is also a significant asset. You are comfortable working in an international team and have excellent client development and interpersonal skills.

Desirable

Experience in the payments industry and familiarity with regulatory requirements will set you apart. A background in consumer financial services and e-commerce will enhance your ability to contribute to the team.

What you'll do

In this role, you will serve as product counsel for the Apple Pay and Wallet team across Europe and Emerging Markets. You will shape responses to legal and regulatory requirements, structuring and negotiating complex commercial agreements with third parties in the payments industry. Your responsibilities will include advising on contract structures and commercial terms for Apple’s partners and customers, translating applicable laws, and supporting service expansion.

You will be involved in advising on broader consumer and legal matters impacting Wallet, Payments, and Commerce. Your role will require you to stay updated on the latest developments in payments law and ensure compliance with relevant regulations. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to provide legal guidance that aligns with Apple's business objectives.
