Job Description
Who you are
You have a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science, or equivalent industry experience. You possess strong programming skills in C and C++, along with scripting abilities in Bash and Python, which are essential for this role. You have a solid understanding of UEFI BIOS firmware architecture and are familiar with AMI Aptio V and EDK2 development. Your knowledge extends to industry-standard specifications such as ACPI, IPMI, PCIe, SMBIOS, and UEFI, which are crucial for the development of server platforms.
You thrive in collaborative environments and are eager to work with highly skilled engineers dedicated to engineering excellence. Your debugging and problem-solving skills are top-notch, allowing you to tackle complex issues effectively. You are adaptable and can navigate the challenges of a fast-paced, often ambiguous environment, demonstrating your ability to contribute meaningfully to the team.
Desirable
While not required, expertise in server platform interfaces, including PCIe, I2C/I3C, SPI, PMBus, UART, GPIO, PECI/APML, and Ethernet controllers would be a significant advantage. Your ability to thrive in dynamic settings will set you apart as a candidate who can make a substantial impact on the team.
What you'll do
In this role, you will design the UEFI BIOS firmware architecture for next-generation industry-standard server platforms. Collaborating closely with ODM, you will develop BIOS that meets the highest standards of reliability and security. Your contributions will be instrumental in delivering features that enhance infrastructure reliability, serviceability, and security.
You will engage in the development process from conception through implementation, ensuring that the BIOS is robust against security threats. Your work will involve collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure that the BIOS meets the needs of Appleβs datacenter systems. You will also be responsible for debugging and triaging issues that arise during development, ensuring that the final product is of the highest quality.
