Job Description
Who you are
You have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Engineering, or equivalent experience in networking software development. Your strong software design and development skills in C and C++ enable you to tackle complex problems effectively. You possess a deep understanding of the TCP/IP suite of protocols, including IPv6, and have excellent communication and interpersonal skills that allow you to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Your experience includes working with macOS and iOS development, and you have a solid grasp of wireless networking technologies and standards such as Wi-Fi and Thread. You understand IP routing concepts and protocols, which helps you analyze and resolve network issues efficiently. You thrive in fast-paced environments and can manage multiple assignments while maintaining a high level of performance.
What you'll do
In this role, you will be responsible for the architectural evolution of Apple's service discovery subsystem, ensuring it meets the needs of various products. You will analyze network issues across a range of transports, including wired, Wi-Fi, and Thread networks, and work closely with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot and monitor software releases to production. Your ability to take ownership of problem areas will be crucial as you contribute to the development of networking technology that enhances user experiences across Apple's ecosystem.
You will participate in the design and enhancement of networking components, collaborating with other engineers to ensure seamless integration across macOS, iOS, watchOS, and tvOS products. Your initiative and problem-solving skills will be essential as you navigate the complexities of networking technology and its role in the larger context of Apple's product offerings.
