Who you are
You are a lens module engineer with a strong background in optical engineering and a passion for pushing the boundaries of what optics can achieve. You have experience collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, including optical engineers and product designers, to create innovative imaging solutions that enhance user experiences. Your ability to communicate complex optical concepts to a diverse audience is one of your key strengths, allowing you to educate stakeholders about the benefits and tradeoffs of new technologies.
You possess a deep understanding of geometrical optics and wave optics, which you apply to architect new optical modules. Your experience in defining architecture for imaging lens technologies ensures that you can translate system requirements into detailed plans and deliver solutions in a timely manner. You are detail-oriented and committed to ensuring the accuracy of manufacturing processes and the reliability of characterization techniques used in lens module production.
What you'll do
In this role, you will drive the entire lens module development process from conceptual design to volume manufacturing. You will collaborate effectively with key stakeholders, including Optical, Mechanical, Display, System, Software, and Product Design teams, as well as external vendors. Your responsibilities will include defining the architecture for new imaging lens technologies, understanding system requirements, and assessing optical behavior and human perception.
You will translate optics requirements into actionable plans, develop schedules, and ensure timely delivery of solutions. Your expertise in geometrical optics or wave-optics tools will be crucial in architecting new optical modules and evaluating their expected performance. You will also play a vital role in educating your colleagues at Apple about the innovative imaging architectures you develop, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing and collaboration.
