Apple is hiring an RFIC Layout Engineer to advance RF analog circuit integration for wireless transceivers. You'll work with Cadence and Calibre to address layout challenges and improve methodologies. This position requires 3+ years of experience in sub-micron CMOS technologies.
Job Description
Who you are
You have a Bachelor's degree and 3+ years of industry experience in RFIC layout engineering, with a deep understanding of sub-micron CMOS technologies such as 16nm and 7nm. Your expertise includes working with FinFET structures, guard-rings, and deep N-wells, and you are familiar with sophisticated process effects like LOD, WPE, and DFM. You understand the trade-offs involving matching, parasitic effects, high-frequency routing, isolation, coupling, shielding, RC delay, EM, IR, ESD, and latch-up, which are critical in your role.
You thrive on innovation and are passionate about improving RF layout methodologies. Your collaborative spirit allows you to work effectively with skilled RFIC design and layout teams, addressing intriguing daily layout challenges. You are adept at diagnosing verification issues using DRC/LVS and are committed to refining layouts through simulation to meet design requirements.
What you'll do
As an RFIC Layout Engineer at Apple, you will lay out detailed custom blocks, including floorplanning, placement, routing, and verification for high-frequency RF circuits. You will collaborate closely with engineering design and layout teams to understand design concepts, constraints, and opportunities for improvement. Upon identifying challenges, you will propose solutions to streamline layout tasks and help specify and finalize methodologies.
Your role will involve continuous improvement of products to surpass previous iterations and enrich user experiences worldwide. You will be responsible for verifying and refining layouts through simulation, ensuring they meet stringent design requirements. Your contributions will play a vital role in advancing the boundaries of RF analog circuit integration in advanced technology nodes for wireless transceivers.
