Overview
Apple is hiring an RFIC Layout Engineer to design and implement advanced CMOS radios. You'll work with RF, analog, and mixed-signal blocks, requiring expertise in layout techniques and CADENCE tools. This position requires 10+ years of relevant industry experience.
Job Description
Who you are
You have over 10 years of relevant industry experience, particularly in custom RF/analog layout for radio transceivers. Your background includes extensive knowledge of deep sub-micron CMOS and FinFet technology, allowing you to tackle complex design challenges effectively. You possess a solid understanding of layout techniques for device matching, minimizing parasitics, RF shielding, and high-frequency routing, which are crucial for the role. Your expertise extends to interpreting CALIBRE DRC, ERC, and LVS in FinFet technology, ensuring high-quality layouts that meet stringent specifications.
You are proficient in scripting with PERL or SKILL, which enhances your ability to automate tasks and improve workflow efficiency. Your excellent communication skills enable you to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, ensuring that design goals are met and that projects progress smoothly. You are detail-oriented, with a strong focus on RC delay, electromigration, and coupling, which are essential for high-performance RFIC designs.
What you'll do
As an RFIC Layout Engineer, you will be responsible for the detailed transistor-level layout of RF and analog circuit blocks, including LNA, mixers, PLL, LO generation, modulators, power amplifiers, ADC/DAC, baseband filters, and bandgap/bias/LDO. You will engage in block-level layout through the full verification flow, including extraction, DRC, LVS, and DFM, ensuring that all designs meet the required specifications and performance metrics. Your role will involve researching and designing next-generation wireless technologies, contributing to high-volume production in advanced CMOS technology nodes.
You will collaborate closely with other engineers and teams to bring innovative solutions to market, leveraging your technical expertise to drive projects forward. Your responsibilities will also include verifying layouts against design rules and ensuring compliance with industry standards. You will play a key role in the development of state-of-the-art energy-efficient CMOS radios, contributing to Apple's mission of delivering cutting-edge wireless technologies.
What we offer
Apple offers a dynamic work environment where innovation and collaboration are at the forefront. You will have the opportunity to work on groundbreaking technologies that shape the future of wireless communication. The company values diversity and inclusion, fostering a culture where all employees can thrive and contribute to their fullest potential. Competitive compensation and benefits packages are provided, along with opportunities for professional growth and development within the organization.
